More About Keith

  • Favorite training technique?:I spend a lot of time in the gym when I'm getting ready for an event, very little time on the table because I tend to injure myself and that just sets me back, and I really like to turn everyday tasks at work into training, i.e., wrist curling conduit and equipment while crossing a job site, and pulling wire until I can't even squeeze my hands!
  • Favorite technique?: Top Roll.
  • Best advice?:  Be the underdog until you're not!
  • Biggest Armwrestling accomplishment?: Winning the gold medal at the WAF World Championship.
  • Most memorable match?: Against Robertas Prozivalskis at the 2012 Nationals, I just remember being so nervous and scared and then it was over, I had won.
  • Tournament/accomplishment you are most proud of?: This was actually a second place finish at the 2012 Unified Nationals because the class was incredibly stacked and I was able to knock some big names off my list!
  • Toughest opponent?: Has got to be Corey Miller because we've pulled so many times that we each know what the other will do and that if one of us comes in in top shape, they'll most likely be that day's victor.
  • First tournament and how did you place?: WPAA Rocky Mountain Regionals. I went undefeated for about 10 matches before I got to the semi-finals and got crushed by Kevin Fanger.
  • Biggest obstacle faced?:  Neck injury in late 2007 that set me back for a couple of years.
  • Occupation?: Industrial electrical.
  • Hobbies?: Absolutely love working out, riding motorcycles, and of course armwrestling.
  • Unique fact?:  At 6'2" and a 175lbs I still managed to achieve 18 1/2" arms!
  • Other notables in the sport or anything else you would like to say?: I would like to say thank you to everyone I have ever pulled before, win or lose, because you made me a better arm wrestler and kept me humble by your amazing sportsmanship!

More About Gina

  • First tourney and how did you place? My first tournament was actually in Albuquerque in 1980 when I was 14 at a mall. I entered with my brothers and I was the only one who went to finals. I won over adult women twice my size. There was no weight class.
  • Most memorable match or tourney?: It was at a restaurant probably about a year into my adult arm wrestling journey. My final opponent of the evening easily outweighed me by 30 lbs and was much taller, and she had a reputation for breaking arms. My family including my daughter was with me and was crying not wanting me to wrestle. Now of course I had to win twice so that was kind of traumatic. It turned out that I did win both matches and my family went wild!! I also met my husband there that night. We divorced many years later but that night was a great night.
  • Favorite technique?: Mental technique: dressing in tight, kind of girly outfits. This seemed to make my opponents think I was whimpy. Physical technique: being fast.
  • What did you do for training?: I did some weightlifting and I had a table to train on. My daughter, from time to time, would bring her high school guy friends over for me to practice with. They stopped coming after awhile. Ha ha ha
  • Before Armwrestling? No sports but always active.
  • Occupation?: I am a graphic designer and fine artist.
  • Hobbies?Doing Improv. Writing. Painting. Roller skating. Yoga. Reading. Travel.
  • Anything else you would like to say?: I have been invited to participate at a “meet a professional” day representing the sport of arm wrestling at our local YMCA this summer. I’m proud to have been an arm wrestler despite the naive thinking most people have about the sport.

More about Rick

  • Rick is a decorated veteran of the United States Navy, a 25 year decorated veteran of the Aurora Police Department, and is the owner of Ricky Bobby BBQ. Rick has been Co-director of Colorado ArmSports and Mile High ArmSports and head referee in 2001. He has brought in numerous sponsors and new hosts and helped promote over 100 MHA events over 20 years. From Rick:...."I started arm wrestling while I was in the Navy overseas on a WESTPAC cruise in pubs and bars 1976. I came home and continued to arm wrestle in Lyons Colorado in bars with very little structure and rules. My hobbies are sculpting wood, wood working, Drag racing, metal car art, 4x4 my 1972 Blazer, snowmobiling, ATVing, river fishing, yard work and gardening (my quiet place), air brushing helmets and vehicles, pen and ink drawing, pencil drawing just to name a few. My most memorable puller to referee was Travis Bagent…. loud, funny, gets in his opponents head, smack talker…… and believe it or not has been very respectful towards me. Most memorable MHA tourney….tough one. There were many. The tourney in Lyons Colorado. Murphy’s Law came into effect. “What can go wrong will go wrong and at the worst possible moment.” I almost quit the sport and I had to do a lot of soul searching to keep my composure and continue to referee. That was a bad one. On the good side there were plenty of great tournaments....... Southern Colorado tournaments in Alamosa were always fun. Lots of heavy weights and an all around good competition. Most proud of…. Becoming a Senior WAF Referee, Colorado Armwrestling Hall of Fame inductee, and representing Team USA at the WAF World Championships in Finland. Of all the pullers I have met and refereed, one thing is certain, their commitment to the sport, their competitive nature and respect they have in themselves as well as their family is second to none. Good, honest people. Having said that, all of the men, women and kids in this sport has made me a better man."
